Extra Curricular Activities

The school encourages every child to take part in various co-curricular activities . A healthy body is required for a healthy mind. The students are a bundle of energy which needs to be properly used. The pupils are trained to take part in various activities like Sports, Quiz, Concert, Elocution, Debates etc. They are encouraged to take part in both Intra School and Inter School Competitions.

Sports

Every alternative year our school organizes an Annual Sports Meet usually at the Eastern Command Stadium to encourage healthy competition. The students practice a March Past, drill exercises and games regularly. The House System has been in vogue since 1986 to create a healthy competitive spirit among pupils.

The Houses are:

  • Laxmibai House (Yellow) Girls
  • Priyadarshini Indira House (Red) Girls
  • Gurudev Tagore House (Blue) Boys
  • Netaji Subhas House (Green) Boys
The Captains and Vice Captains maintain the discipline of each House. The boys and girls have P.T. uniforms according to their respective Houses. School boys take part in Inter School Cricket and Football Championships

Annual Concert

The school offers a platform for budding artistes to express their talents. Special training is provided for drama and dance by the professionals before the Annual Concert is organized. The students are also encouraged to bring forth their own ideas, since creative pursuits bring about a healthy growth of body and mind. The parents are invited for the show in the reserved auditorium. This is the occasion when they also realize their child’s potentials.

Every year after the Final Examination, the students have to portray their innovative talents in the form of our Annual School Exhibition held in the school campus. The primary section prepares colourful charts and pretty models to be displayed. The secondary section has to grind hard to come up with unique and original ideas in the form of "live" models.

Quiz and Debates

Every year the school organizes a Quiz and Debate Competition in our school campus to test the abilities of our students. These competitions help them to gain confidence and take part in Inter School Competitions. Thus the school believes in providing the "best" for an all round development.

Celebrations

Today schooling is no more based on old conventional rules where students only had to pay attention to studies. Schools have become centres of creative pursuits and recreation. Certain special days have their own significance which provide reasons to celebrate. Celebrations on special days like Teacher’s Day (5th Sept), Children’s Day (14th Nov), Republic Day (26th Jan), Founder's Day(31st July),a Farewell Party (to Class X) are held every year. Saraswati Puja and Durga Puja(SHARAD UTSAV) are celebrated with great fanfare. Durga Puja celebrations last for five days from Sashthi to Dashmi.

The School Hall is decorated with colourful lights, decoratives and a big image of Maa Durga. The four days are full of fun and frolic. The school invites some residents from the Lawrence D’Souza Home, Nabanir and the St. Joseph’s Home to enjoy the function.
